The Storm That Made History
Salem entered every challenge with fire behind her eyes. Together, she and Heather changed what people believed a Great Dane rally team could accomplish.
Salem became the first AKC Rally Champion Great Dane in breed history and earned induction into the Great Dane Club of America Hall of Fame. Her remarkable career included 199 Rally and Obedience placement awards, 18 Rally High Combined awards, nine Rally High Triple awards, and 12 GDCA Performance Invitational class championships.
She earned national recognition year after year—from becoming the Top Scoring Great Dane at the 2020 AKC Rally National Championship to representing her breed at the inaugural AKC RACH Invitational in 2025, where she placed in the Top 50 overall, was the Top Scoring Great Dane, and earned third place in the Working Group.
In 2025, Salem was honored as a GDCA Venerable Great Dane. The titles document her achievements, but they cannot fully measure her courage, her presence, or the bond that made every accomplishment possible.
Thunder in the Silence
History will remember Salem’s firsts, her titles, and every barrier she crossed. Heather will remember something even greater: the dog who stood beside her through every sign, every turn, and every challenge they faced together.
Salem may no longer walk at Heather’s side, but the force of her life remains—in the records she changed, the people she inspired, and the love that does not end when a final ribbon is won.
