Remembering His Life and Service

Walter was a decorated and disabled World War II Army Air Corps veteran who flew 33 missions as an engineer and gunner, including during the Normandy campaign. His honors included the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Stars, and the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters. He later served Framingham for 30 years and was treasurer of Firefighters Local 1652.
